Our ideal candidate will be an experienced SEN teaching assistant with knowledge and experience of how to support children with a range of SENs and a passion to include. You will be working in our SEN resource base for up to 12 children with SEN.

You’ll be responsible for:

• Supporting the teaching and learning of pupils with complex SEN, both 1:1 and in small groups.

• Delivering targeted interventions and therapies under the guidance of the class teacher and SENCo.

• Providing personal care and managing medical or sensory routines where required.

• Using visual aids, communication systems (e.g. PECS, Makaton), and sensory tools to enhance understanding and engagement.

• Promoting emotional regulation and resilience using therapeutic and trauma-informed approaches.

• Maintaining accurate records of progress and behaviour and contributing to EHCP reviews and multi-agency planning.

• Collaborating with teachers, therapists, and external professionals to provide holistic support.

You’ll bring:

• Experience supporting children with a range of special educational needs, ideally in a school or care setting.

• Confidence in working with children who require high levels of support with communication, behaviour, or physical needs.

• Knowledge of inclusive practices and strategies for supporting engagement and learning.

• Patience, resilience, and the ability to remain calm under pressure.

• A positive, team-focused attitude and willingness to learn and adapt.

• Minimum GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths; a relevant Level 2 or 3 qualification is desirable.

• A strong commitment to safeguarding, pupil wellbeing, and the values of inclusion and respect.
